It’s that time of year again! We’re gearing up for our annual Game-A-Thon streams for 2019, and we’re here to give you a quick update on how things are going to go down for this year.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with what Game-A-Thon is, you can read through a detailed description of the event here.
For those of you who want a quick summary, Game-A-Thon is a Couch Bandits tradition, in which we gather every year (usually around the holidays) and binge-play board games for hours on end.
Typically Game-A-Thon happens in two parts: a Thanksgiving stream (we call ThanksGaming), and a Christmas stream. Starting last year, the Couch Bandits live-streamed these events via Twitch, and the Christmas stream was transformed into a charity event to raise money for children’s hospitals via the Extra Life foundation.
Last year we managed to raise over $300 via this event, and we had such a great time doing it, we’ve decided to make the charity stream an annual part of the Game-A-Thon celebration. We’ll have more details on that event soon, so keep watch on the site for that.
The ThanksGaming stream will also be happening this year, but will be a more casual for-fun type live-stream event. You can anticipate that stream happening sometime either this Friday the 29th, or Saturday the 30th. We’re still working out our schedule, so please keep an eye out on our social media pages and on this website for the official announcement of the time and date.
The holidays are without a doubt our favorite time of year. ‘Tis the season of giving, and we can’t wait for the chance to give!
