What We’re Listening To — RuneScape: Original Soundtrack Classics

If you missed the announcement last week, then we count ourselves lucky to break the news to you: Laced Records, in partnership with Jagex, is releasing two collections of RuneScape music.

The first is a collection of “Original Soundtrack Classics,” which includes more than 40 songs from RuneScape that will hit you in the gut with pure nostalgia. Even if it’s been years since you last played RuneScape, these songs will immediately transport you to Lumbridge Castle.

You’ll be able to recall in vivid detail your first trip to the bustling city of Varrock, which likely involved narrowly skirting by the aggressive Dark Wizards hanging outside the city limits. Or maybe you’ll be brought back to spending hours murdering cattle and goblins outside the Al Kharid gate or mining and smithing in the heat of the Dwarven Mines.

Whatever it may be, you’re bound to feel a delightful tinge of familiarity listening to this collection. The curation includes all the absolute classics, from Harmony and Sea Shanty 2 to Fanfare and Horizon.

Better yet, Laced Records is releasing this soundtrack on vinyl and CD, and if you preorder, you get an instant digital download of the collection for your listening pleasure. The collection is also available on a number of digital streaming services, if you just want to listen.

As huge RuneScape fans, we are beyond excited to check out this collection. And if you’re curious to learn more about the second set, “RuneScape: The Orchestral Collection,” come back to Couch Bandits tomorrow—we’ll have a write-up describing all the details you need to know!
